THE FOOD

Dine at Grand West Casino

It’s difficult to know where to start when it comes to food at Grand West Casino, there are just so many options! There is a fast food court with for your “on the go” meals at a cheaper rate than the restaurants and you’ll find Steers, KFC, Debonaire’s, Wimpy, Milky Lane and more. There are also family restaurants like Spur which is always good no matter where you go.

Then of course there are the real restaurant options which are set in a replica of Cape Town’s vibey Old District Six with buildings inspired by those found on the original streets. There are a host of culinary delights to be found along with an infectious mix of local and international music. Although there are too many good restaurants to mention, our favourites would be:

Bukhara: For sumptuous, sensational Indian fare, you have to visit Bukhara. This restaurant has an authentic Indian theme and a mystic air to it. The menu is divided into two sections, tandoori and curry, with tandoori being starter portions and the curries the main meals which are to die for and range from about R80 to R90 except for prawn dishes which are of course more expensive.

Cape Town Fish Market: Yes it’s generic and maybe a bit pricey but we’ve never gone wrong with the food here, from sushi to seafood platters every experience is a pleasurable one!

THE ENTERTAINMENT

Theatres:Grand West offers the Grand Arena seats over 5000 people and features the ultimate in big-name acts like Counting Crows, Kelly Clarkson and more as well as live entertainment like the SA Lipizzaners. This really is an entertainment Superbowl! And if you’re looking for a more intimate theatre venue then try the Roxy Revue Bar which features live music show, theatrical performances as well as the occasional comedy night.

Family: If only they had had places like this when we were younger! Grand West Casino is a child’s paradise with not only the Magic Company arcade but also movies, ten pin bowling and the most awesome Ice Station which offers an Olympic-size skating rink, mini-rink for tots, ice hockey and figure skating!!! The fun just never stops here!

Nightlife: Situated in “The District” you’ll find all of Grand West’s nightlife where at peak times the parties often pour into the streets. There’s something for everyone with the Supersport Bar to catch a game and have a brew with the guys, Hanover street if you feel like dancing the night away with some of SA’s top DJ’s or Jackson hall for a dinner and jazz evening.
