Theatres: Emperors Palace is home to the Marcellus Theatre which is quite small in comparison to some others but nevertheless is fully able to host world-class dance extravaganzas, musicals and plays. The theatre is adjacent to the casino floor and the box office is conveniently situated right outside so no hunting for it like at other venues. There is also the Odeon Show Bar which is also just off the casino floor and features live entertainment including cabaret shows, comedians, live bands and if there is a big sporting match on, then look out for the big screens here. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis but the atmosphere is one not to be missed to get there early to make sure you get a place (acts usually start at 19:30).

Family: When it comes to entertainment for the family, Emperors Palace not only offers a great Magic Company gaming arcade but has also recently added new Nu-Metro cinemas. There is also a child minding service for children aged 1-12 at Jupiters if you MUST leave your children.

Nightlife: Check out the trendy, sophisticated Marc Antony’s Cigar Lounge which is a rich infusion of class and fun often featuring live bands. There is also a brand new upmarket News Café which is quite a party on week-ends. Other than that, we can’t say it’s “the place to be” for clubbers. 64@ThePalace is new and replaced the famous Monsoon Lagoon Night Club after its heyday, 64 is a multipurpose and intimate, live entertainment lounge featuring cabaret shows and children’s entertainment, so not really one for the jollers!

Spa: Emperors Palace is home to the ultimate Octavia’s Sensorium Day Spa…this is definitely a venue for pure indulgence in a breathtaking setting. All of your favourite professional treatments are available and prices are on par with most of the leading Johannesburg and Sandton spa venues (which for some may mean you need to hit the jackpot first But it is definitely worth the visit, even if it is just once!
